Mount of Washington WindsThe track “Horseography” from Humanatone was used in the latest Ford Fiesta Movement video by “Agent 54” (John Herman).  He took the Fiesta up to the top of the Mount  of Washington, highest peak in the Northeast and home to the world’s worst weather.  Watch as the Talented Mr. Herman’s fear of heights is tested!  Witness the bravery of his intrepid wife!  Breathe in the pastoral themes evoked by the music!

The Fiesta Movement Has Begun

car-2-aThis is kind of old news, but the lead-off track from Humanatone entitled “Falling Down The Stairs” was recently featured in a video by Mr. John Herman.  Herman entered this video as part of Ford’s Fiesta Movement.  He was selected as one of 100 “agents” who will be among the first Americans to test drive the new Ford Fiesta.  He can now be located anywhere in The Shire in his (almost) one of a kind vehicle.  See him and the JohnHermantourage in the video below.

Rudy Sims - Humanatone Cover

Humanatone is the recently released third album by Rudy Sims.  It was written and recorded as part of the 2009 RPM Challenge.  This album focuses on an underutilized instrument in modern music – the nose flute (also called a nose whistle or “humanatone“).  The nose flute is played by blowing through the nose using the mouth as a resonating cavity.  Besides nose flutes, this album also boasts an eclectic mixture of pop, ambient and experimental tracks.  It is the most sophisticated Rudy Sims album to date.  Hear it here.

Strange Creek 2009

strangecreek_banner2009Rudy was recently spotted at the 7th annual Strange Creek Campout music festival playing a set with The Chris Merenda Band in support of Chris’ forthcoming album “The Wheel”.  A recording of the set exists, but is of dubious quality.  Highlights 0f the festival included the Northshire String Band and Zach Deputy (oh yeah, and wigged out hippies galore).  Shop at Brighter Daze, but beware of the Danger Car.

Mayan Urine

Mayan Urine

Mayan Urine is the second album by Rudy Sims.  It was completed as part of the RPM Challenge in 2008.  It is an experimental vocal album where every sound on the album came from Rudy Sims’ mouth.  This includes traditional western singing, throat singing, vocal sampling and more.  The album was produced by longtime collaborator Lecherously P. Vagabonding.  The album can be heard here.  If you don’t like it, at least it is almost over.

The Private Music of Rudy Sims

The Private Music of Rudy Sims

The Private Music of Rudy Sims was the first Rudy Sims album.  It was written and recorded on 2/24/2007 as part of the RPM Challenge.  It is a collection of 12 banjo and guitar waltzes touted as being “chromatically enhanced”.  Unfortunately, due to the time constraints involved in the RPM Challenge (write and record 10 songs or 35 minutes of original material in the month of February), this album was rushed and therefore never fully realized.  The only redeeming factor is the physical packaging of the CD which is housed in a paper bag.  The album (however boring it is) is available for streaming or download here.

Welcome!
